Schools

"Every child should have the opportunity throughout key stage 2 to study a foreign language and develop their interest in the culture of other nations. They should have access to high quality teaching and learning opportunities, making use of native speakers and e-learning. By age 11 they should have the opportunity to reach a recognized level of competence on the Common European Framework and for that achievement to be recognised through a national scheme."
(The National Languages Strategy)

There is great emphasis currently on language learning, whether at Primary or Secondary level, as well as in Adult Education. By 2010 all Primary Schools must offer a language to their students, while Secondary schools must adjust to students coming to them in year 7 with prior knowledge of a language. In conjunction with the falling numbers of GCSE entries for languages, the outlook for languages seems rather mixed.

We are here to provide a personal solution for you, whatever your needs.

HS Language Services is able to offer regular language tuition and workshops, as well as INSET to Primary Schools. We can advise Headteachers and Governors on the best way to introduce languages in to their school.

We can support Secondary Schools and GCSE students, by providing alternative languages in your school, either school or as part of the timetable. One-to-one and small group tuition can also help with GCSE preparation, particularly in increasing confidence before the speaking exams.
